How to recover from an iPhone Crash:
Crashes and Freezes can occur at anytime with the iPhone or iPhone 3G,
whether you're using a browser, maps, or any application. Whether the
screen turns completely black after and doesn't not respond, or if it just hangs
on an application a freezes, here are the remedies:
- To un-freeze the iPhone, you can press and hold down the Home key for
about six seconds. If this works, you will be returned to the Home screen,
with everything working again, or
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button (the physical button at the top of
the iPhone) until the red slider appears on the screen. Drag the
slider to power off your iPhone. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
again until the Apple logo appears, or
- Press down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously for around 10
seconds.
Good luck!
